What can you win?

Individual/household

Individual/household entries are in the draw to win one of 15 prize packs!

Each prize pack contains:

  • A four-person grab bag
  • Furniture straps
  • Disastrous Cards for Calamity
  • A solar power bank OR a pet first aid kit.

Organisation

Organisations (including schools) are in the draw to win one of 15 wheelie bins full of emergency supplies!

  • Competition period

    • The competition runs from 9 June 2025 - 16 October 2025.
    • Registrations for New Zealand ShakeOut 2025 open on 9 June 2025 and close on 23 October 2025. Registrations after 16 October 2025 will not be eligible for the prize draws.

    Prize draw entry

    • To enter the prize draw, each entrant must:
      • sign up for New Zealand ShakeOut 2025 before 16 October 2025
      • choose a Registration Group, and
      • agree to go in the draw to win a prize.
    • You may only submit one Entry during the Competition Period and each entrant can only win one prize.
    • You are responsible for ensuring that any information provided as part of an Entry is complete and correct. Incomplete, incorrect, indecipherable, illegible or late entries will be invalid.
    • The National Emergency Management Agency reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of Entries and entrants, and to disqualify any entrant who submits an Entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the National Emergency Management Agency to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

    Prize draw

    The National Emergency Management Agency will use its best endeavours to contact each winner by using the contact details provided supplied in each Winning Entry within 5 business days from the prize draw. However, if the National Emergency Management Agency cannot contact any winner within a reasonable time, they may redraw for the relevant prize.

    Winners will be announced by the local Civil Defence Emergency Management Group.

    All decisions regarding this Competition by NEMA will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

    General

    Personal information collected by New Zealand ShakeOut for the purposes of the Competition will only be used in connection with this Competition or as otherwise set out in these Terms and Conditions. You have a right of access to and the right to request correction of your personal information.

    If you are a prize winner, you agree to participate in publicity organised by NEMA or your local Civil Defence Emergency Management Group and you also agree to the use of your name, likeness and image for publicity and promotional purposes for an unlimited period in any media, without compensation. This includes, but is not limited to, social media and event websites and media releases.

    The National Emergency Management Agency reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify the Competition in response to technical failures, fraud or any other factors out of the reasonable control of the National Emergency Management Agency. Any such updates will be displayed on the ShakeOut website.
